  • Let breadth = X
  • THEN length=X+2
  • Perimeter = 2(X + 2 +. X)
  • Thus 2(2X + 2) = 8
  • 4X + 4 = 8
  • 4X = 4

Divide both sides by the same factor

[tex]4 \times = 4 \\ \frac{4 \times }{4} = \frac{4}{4} [/tex]

Cancel terms that are in both the numerator and denominator

Divide the numbers

  • [tex] x = \frac{4}{4 } [/tex]
