with 2 die, there are 2 ways to roll a sum of 3......1 and 2, 2 and 1
with 2 die, there are 5 ways to roll a sum of  8...2 and 6, 6 and 2, 3 and 5, 5 and 3, 4 and 4.

total of possible outcomes = (6 * 6) = 36

the probability of this happening is : 7/36

1. There are 36 total outcomes. 5 of them add to be 6 (15, 24, 33, 42, 51)and five add to be 8 (26, 35, 44, 53, 62)so that's 10 out of 36; reduce it
2. If there is such a thing as a five sides solid with 5 equal-sized faces, which I doubt, there would be 25 total outcomes, and 4 could be 13,22 or 31 while 8 could be 35,44, or 53 so 6 out of 25
